PropertyHedge is a marketplace for real estate option contracts — the right to buy a property at an agreed price before a set date, in exchange for a non-refundable premium paid to the owner.

Almost nobody buying or selling a home knows what that sentence means. The product borrows an instrument from derivatives trading and applies it to the most emotionally loaded purchase most people ever make. So the problem wasn't persuasion, it was comprehension. You cannot sell someone a thing they can't explain back to you.

The site is built as a teaching sequence rather than a pitch. "Options 101" sits in the primary navigation, not buried in a footer. The three parties — seller, buyer, realtor — each get their own path through the explanation, because an option means something completely different to each of them and one version would have served none of them.

The pricing calculator is the load-bearing piece. Enter a property value, choose a duration, set a strike price, and the abstraction becomes a number you can hold. When an offer is a percentage, a rate or a contract, people can't measure it against their own situation. Turn it into their dollars and they can — which is the difference between understanding a product and wanting one.
