InstaVet is a walk-in urgent care and wellness clinic for pets in Long Island City, open every day of the year. The storefront is a two story corner under the elevated train. A loud place to be seen, and an easy place to be missed.

The work was the glass. Printed vinyl wrapping both facades, doing three jobs at once: signage, advertising, and privacy for the rooms behind it.

Everything is built on big flat color. Red, blue and yellow organic shapes against black brick, no gradients and no fine detail, so it holds from across the street and from a passing train. Photography is knocked into the color fields rather than sitting in boxes, because on a vet clinic the animals do the selling and the mark can stay small.

A clinic needs cover at street level but the staff still need light, so the shapes are placed to screen sightlines into the waiting and exam areas while leaving clear glass between them. Each panel carries one short line. Walking the corner reads as a sequence instead of a wall of copy, and someone stopped at the light gets one message, not six.
